New Talent: Cynthia Erivo

Youtube can be so good sometimes, for example, helping us to find new talent...like Cynthia Erivo. Watch Cynthia perform an acoustic version of 'Signal', beautiful.

New Music: 'Around My Way(Freedom Ain't Free)’ (Lupe Fiasco)

If 'AMW' is any indicator of Lupe's other new stuff, I can confidently say that Lupe is back *sigh of relief*. 'AMW' is the first full release from Food and Liquor 2, after releasing snippets earlier today, and samples Pete Rock & CL Smooth's classic 'They Reminisce Over You'. Although we may enjoy it, Pete Rock had some choice words about his unhappiness of Lupe using the sample, tweeting:
"No disrespect to lupe fiasco and i like him alot but TROY should be left alone. Feel so violated, the beat is next to my heart and was made outta anguish and pain. When it's like that it should not be touched by no one! It's so hard for folks to make original music, I possess that, but these dudes are scared of that and this is supposed to be HIP HOP? Man I'm a lupe fan and everything but TROY was my homie man. I think about him and Hev every fucking day!!!! Smh This business can be so lame, sometimes I make beats blindfolded with one hand tied behind my back and still these cats can't be original to. So untalented and unoriginal. Makes me feel like I'm truly the best that ever did it, I'm not flattered @ all. Dat shit is wack, and the producer should be ashamed of his fuckin self. Smh I think lupe is a great artist, I'm that angry with him but it's a major label idea. I can feel it."
Damn, when paying homage goes wrong...listen to AMW below.

Video: ASAP Rocky Hits The Stage at Bamboozle

The definition of 'always dope', the PMF never disappoints.

Submission: 'FOE Boyz'

"FOE Boyz is an urban music group consisting of three unique artists: T-dot, Shise, and Ron G, that creatively merge the hip hop styles of the Big Apple the Dirty South. FOE BOYZ met in New York in early 2005 while listening to the music that was being created by Productions. Shise and Ron G were influenced by the movement and instantly chose the path of their future. Shise and Ron G became the first official group under F.O.E. Productions, which later became F.O.E. Entertainment. Feeling the need for a third artist to fill in the missing piece of the puzzle, T-dot (Ron G’s former high school classmate) came into the picture. Once Ron G discovered that T-dot was pursing his music career he introduced him to Shise and Kiza (one of the founders of F.O.E. Entertainment). They listened to T-dot’s three-song demo and the rest was history."
Listen to them here. And remember, you can always send your submissions to borndeeblog@gmail.com, we love new talent, but please don't spam

Who's that hipster sitting on that oak tree with the obligatory hipster Instagram filter? ahhh it's Asher Roth...just kidding. It's always refreshing to hear new music from Mr. Roth and he gives us 'Outside', an incredibly mellow, smoking or ride your bike to tune, much different from 'Party Girl'. If you like this you can pick up his second album Is This Too Orange? later on this year.

As fans (including us) eagerly await the release of '3:16 AM' (which, according to Jhene, is being held hostage by Def Jam) she gifts us with '2 Seconds' instead. The track is produced by Kevin Roosevelt and is unfortunately unfinished, although it's still beautiful. Listen below.

Video: Jay-Z Really Likes Rita Ora...Really

Jay-Z sat down with Vevo Lift to speak about new...well not so new (signed with the Roc in '09) protégé Rita Ora, who's looked at as Rihanna's competition, and he had nothing but kind words to say.

"When she enters the room, it changes, and that presence, you can't duplicate that, you know, especially at such a young age. It was just infectious to me, like, man, she loves this, she's driven in that way."
On her stage presence:
"The first time that I truly say her on stage was at the Cartier event in NYC, to have that sort of stage presence and sort of energy...the music cut off and she still was like, "More!", like she still wanted to go. She jumped off the stage at one point and started dancing with the crowd, it was a great moment."
On her look:
"Being from London and all, she has that bit of Brit-rock, you know, punk rock feeling to her, which I love."
BONUS: Watch Rita perform an acoustic (A.64) version of 'R.I.P.' on SBTV after the jump.

New Video: 'Right By My Side feat Chris Brown' (Nicki Minaj)

Nicki Minaj shows us her cute, normal side in the video for new single 'Right By My Side'. Personally, 'Right By My Side' is Nicki's best video…EVER! Not saying it's A+, but I mean...She looks gorgeous, the wig is semi-messy, the relationship was believable and she kept the theatrics to a minimum. Watch as Nicki and her love interest, Nas, show us how good relationships can be, love is always good right?

New Video: 'Express Yourself' (Labrinth)

Labrinth has always been on my list of artists that I love, he always puts 100% into all of his projects and wows me. 'Express Yourself' is no different, showing different scenarios of why it's cool to express yourself, oh yea, peep Labrinth spinning in that chair (a la Fresh Prince of Bel Air) without a care in the world.

Performance: 'R.I.P.' (Rita Ora)

I'm loving this girl's work ethic, she's really grindin'. Watch as Rita O performs her single 'R.I.P.' live in London.

Video: Nicki Minaj Stops Time in 'Now In A Moment' Pepsi Ad

"7-Up went and game my commercial to Cee-lo"

In the 'Now In A Moment" Pepsi ad, a couple opening a can of Pepsi causes time to freeze, giving them the freedom to roam around different scenarios, which includes a city, beach, Tomatina, fashion show (cameo by Betsey Johnson) and finally ending up at a Nicki Minaj concert. The couple then opens up another can of Pepsi and starts time again, cute. Now there's only one thing left to ask, where can we get that can of Pepsi?

New Video: 'We in This B-tch' (DJ Drama x Future x Young Jeezy, T.I., and Ludacris)

The behind the scenes video for this was out for a while but we finally get the full visual.

"I'm just telling you the basics of growing up with your friends and becoming the one that made it."

After all of the teasers and behind the scenes videos, Trey finally realeases the video for 'Heart Attack', with Kelly Rowland playing the love interest.  Chapter V drops this summer.

BTS: 'Payphone Feat. Wiz Khalifa' (Maroon 5)

Bank robberies, car explosions, hot girl, boring guy turned hero...looks like it's gonna be big! Can't wait to see the full thing.  Overexposed is out on June 26th. Watch the behind the scenes video after the jump.

New Music: 'Burn Feat. Big Sean' (Meek Mill)

As the date for Dreamchasers 2 draws near (May 7th), 'Burn' is just one of two songs that Meek planned to release today to quench our thirst. 'Burn' is the perfect mix of ignorant, WOOP. Listen below.

R.I.P. to MCA

We lost a big piece of the hip-hop puzzle earlier today, Adam Yauch (MCA) of the Beastie Boys. The puzzle has been losing a lot of pieces lately, this one, like the others, saddened me deeply. Legendary.

New Video: 'Lost in the World' (Kanye West)

'Lost in the World' is from Kanye's 2010 released, Grammy award winning album, My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy. The visual is 'artsy, black and white with dancers showing emotions through their dance moves...that kind of stuff, Kanye stuff.

New Music: 'Nowhere Feat. Busta Rhymes' (Tank)

Tank has been winning for a while now, at least in my books. I just got around to listening to his Now or Never album (my bad) and it sealed the deal of me being a fan...Anyway, Tank teams up with Busta for 'Nowhere', which comes from his new album This Is How I Feel, out Tuesday. Listen below.

New Video: 'Boyfriend' (Justin Bieber)

Hot girls, vintage cars and dancing is what Justin Bieber went with instead of the dope video idea that the teasers sold. Who knows why he shot an entirely different video, but one thing we do know is that JB really transformed himself from his 'Baby' days, and we love it.

Video: Kendrick Lamar Performs 'The Recipe' On HHPOV

"Women. Weed & Weather."

K. Dot dropped by MTV's 'Hip Hop POV' and performed his new song 'The Recipe', sans Dr. Dre, it's OK though, we got to see them perform it together at Coachella. Still dope.

BTS: 'Let's Talk Feat. Rick Ross' (Omarion)

Video: Jay-Z Does A Surprise Performance At Youtube Upfront Presentation

New Music: 'Beat Down' (Steve Aoki x Angger Dimas x Iggy Azalea)

"There's a party on your face and I'm 'bout to dance on it"

Iggy Azalea shows us her tough side on Steve Aoki and Angger Dimas' new track 'Beat Down'. I doubt that this is a message for Azealia Banks, since Iggy said that she's done with that, but you never know. Listen below.

New Video: 'Goldie' (ASAP Rocky)

Pretty Motherfxckers in Paris is the theme of Rocky's new visual for 'Goldie', obviously. The video is directed by Rocky himself, as we learnt in the behind the scenes video and it's really dope, as always. Watch how the PMF drives around the streets of Paris in a vintage car, dressed up in Alexander Wang, fly...

New Video: "Even On A Rainy Day" (Rizzle Kicks)

Well...this video isn't exactly new...it's three days old, but...I love these guys so it's new today.

New Video: "Bag of Money" (MMG)

After holding one of the most useless press conferences ever, MMG releases the video for the first single off of 'Self Made Vol. 2', out June 26th. Sidenote, this song was so much better without T-Pain.

BTS: "Heart Attack" (Trey Songz)

Yesterday, we showed you a clip of Trey Songz' 'Heart Attack' vid, now here's the BTS action.

New Video: 'This Feeling' (Tinashe)

I found out about Tinashe a little over a month ago, thanks to Twitter. Long story short, she followed the old blog account, didn't know who it was (sorry) so I went on Youtube (yea...yea) to find out exactly who this girl was, searched and the first video that popped up was 'Chainless', I loved it so much that I downloaded her mixtape 'In Case We Die' and I've been hooked ever since. Anyway, back to the real reason for this post, the video for 'This Feeling' just came out, watch this and 'Chainless' below.

New Music: "No Lie (Feat. Drake)" (2 Chainz)

2 Chainz really blew up from working with Nicki Minaj and having a hit single (Spend It)...TRUUUU. His newest collaboration is with YM's hitmaker, Drake for 'No Lie', which is the first single from the new album. All I can say is that I need the dirty version of this WOOOP! Based on a T.R.U Story drops August 14.

ASAP Mob Freestyle Post

It's no secret that I'm a big fan of A$AP Mob, which lead me to create a post about what they've been up to this week, let's just say that they've been busy. Watch as the group freestyles, from Rocky on Westwood to the Mob on DJ Skee's show. Check out the other vids after the jump.

New Music: "Dark Red Lipstick" (Lola Monroe)

New Video: 'Hurt Somebody (Feat. French Montana)' (Akon)

Haven't heard from Akon in a while, but he makes sure he isn't forgotten with the offering of 'Hurt Somebody' and the accompanying visual. Watch as Akon shows you how tough life can be. His new album, Stadium, is out on September 11th (originality).

Video: Tyga Stops By 106 & Park

Video Teaser: "Heart Attack" (Trey Songz)

The song has been out for a while, so I guess Trey decided to finally release a video for it. In the teaser, Trey has a little fun playing around with his love interest, Kelly Rowland. You can catch the full vid when it premieres on 106 & Park on Friday, May 4th.
